How hCG Works
hCG has three primary functions:
Reset your brain to a lower metabolism. The hypothalamus within your brain works with other mechanisms to control the metabolic burn rate. hCG works on the hypothalamus during the program to set your caloric intake levels at a lower rate than you are accustomed to using. This "reset" allows you to burn abnormal fat and maintain a lower caloric intake once you go off the 500 calorie diet.
Burn difficult to reach fat deposits called abnormal fat. Most of your energy comes from this fat consumption. This can be as much as 3000—4000 calories of fat. As a result, you only need to eat 500 calories during the program to receive all the energy your body needs. Since your body is getting its calories from the “abnormal fat,” it does not go into starvation mode and start to use structural fat and muscle tissue as is common with other diets. Since the abnormal fat is stored in unwanted areas such as hips, thighs, and abdomen, your body is naturally contoured to a state of younger years. Disengage or significantly reduce hunger. Since the brain is “reset” and because your body is actually getting all the calories it needs, most patients do not feel hunger or hunger is significantly reduced. This reduction in hunger threshold helps you to maintain your weight after you stop taking hCG.
